Hey now...…. Freddy rules! (and you know it too )
You could play him in a reboot, Dummy. Neil the horror-addict would love that I'm sure.
Well, I sure couldn't do any worse than Jackie Earle Haley did in the 2010 reboot. I've HEARD they were going to try and do a re-re-boot though (which I highly hate the idea of and which thankfully doesn't look likely btw). But you know..... maybe they are just waiting on ME to agree to do it !
Man...……….. Neil, you're starting to sound more like Ant every day...
The VCR itself- Was a beast of a thing- it monopolised your TV stand to the point where there was no space for ornaments, TV controls- anything really. It was the focal point of your room whether you wanted it to be or not.
I haven't got round to watching that yet, despite being a fan of the original movies. I've only heard negative stuff about it though so I don't know if I'll ever bother.
That Friday the 13th reboot was terrible too.
The reboot of Nightmare wasn't …… terrible …. in fact it went into Freddies background a little more than the original and I liked that. The production quality was very good too imo. BUT, and I can't stress this enough, Mr. Haley while doing a serviceable job is NO Robert Englund. His puns were terrible and few and far between. Almost anyone would have a hard time following Mr. Englunds performance but Mr. Haley just floundered as post death Freddy. His pre-death Freddy was... ok, but enough to save the movie? No not really.
I agree 1000% about the reboot of Friday the 13th too.
Yes, there's just not substitute for Robert Englund. I might still give it watch sometime though since you seem quite positive towards it in your last post. I'm also curious about @neilold the red nosed reindeer's opinion of it.
I haven't watched it, since I hate the noes series. I've heard nothing but bad things about it. But I've heard it delves more into Freddie's notorious child abuse, and, since they seem to have left out the comedic crap, I might like it. Since there will be none of the rose tinted nostalgia over the original series
Indeed, they went much more into Freddies past than in the original and yes the humor of Freddies kills was almost completely if not totally removed. I liked the NOES series a lot tbh. I mean..... Freddy was the first completely "new" monster to come down the pike in a long time. Gruesome deaths, Freddies quips as he killed.... I was sold the first time I watched ! The re-make had a few gruesome deaths but unrelieved by the humor that "made" Freddy Freddy imo. But to each their own. I've only re-watched it once as opposed to the countless times I've re-watched all the originals. As I mentioned the production values were outstanding and the writing was pretty good too actually even if the signature Freddy taunts and quips were removed. I suppose its worth at least one watch. But be warned , Mr. Haley and the writers put a completely different take on Freddy in it. Plus..... and I know this is nitpicking but Mr. Haley is …. lol... much too short to be a believable Freddy .
I'll view it at some point. You like Freddie's revenge best, you mincing pansy
"You are all my children now!"
Fairies wear boots...… ya gotta believe me
The man of your dreams is back, and what's black Sabbath got to do with it anyway?
What awful music.
