I’ve never watched this show! Should I bother?
I can't wait to get there!
I think so, if you like Greg Davies or Alex Horne in particular, or a fair chunk of current UK comics in general it's IMO pretty entertaining.
Stranger Things on Netflix
I saw the first couple of episodes, but I didn't feel like continuing with it. Maybe I'll come back to it in the future.
Why did you not feel like continuing it. We demand answers.
It didn't grab my interest unlike say Orphan Black, Game of Thrones and Westworld.
I was hoping the answer would be more exciting. Like you got your willy caught in the zip of your jeans while watching and were physically unable to continue. Now when you even THINK about Stranger things you get a sore helmet.
Masterchef US. Not as good as Hell's Kitchen but entertaining enough.
Also John Oliver's Last Week Tonight and The Jim Jefferies Show.
The first part of The Civil War, an entertaining nine-part series about the American Civil War. It's a conflict I know relatively little about, so it's going to be interesting to learn all about it.
The north wins.
Final Space. Animated show on Netflix. Beginning isn't too good. But it certainly gets better. Highly recommend. Especially as there's a space cat bounty hunter called 'Avocato.'
I've also given The Orville a try although I've only seen the first episode so far. It's a Seth McFarlane project (Of Family Guy & American Dad amongst others for those who don't know) and stars him too, it's seems very much like a light-hearted take on a Star Trek type show. I'd struggle to call it a comedy since the dramatic elements seem quite prominent and any real laughs are few and far between, but it clearly doesn't take itself all that seriously at the same time.
Apparently it's got a second season although from what little I've seen I'm not all that excited about that at this stage. To be fair though, I'll be in a far better position to make a more informed call on that when I've at least watched a couple more episodes.
Yeah I watched all of The Orville last year. Its a very tonally confusing show in that a lot of the time you wouldn't call it a comedy at all, just a fairly straight and blatant Star Trek TNG rip-off... then maybe 3 or 4 times a show there's suddenly a joke about w*nking or something. And you're like "Oh yeah, its supposed to be funny too isn't it?" - all very odd.
Currently on just 23% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Underdunn, for someone who thought the first episode was alright but really nothing special, would you recommend sticking with it for the rest of the series or cutting my losses at this stage?
Currently drinking a fine wine
It doesn't get better, it doesn't get worse.
If consistent mediocrity is your thing, go for it!
Currently about to eat dinner
Thanks, I'll probably give it another couple of episodes at least.
