    Excellent. They all seem to want to make more. We just need Dave to commission the series now.

    Excellent.

    One thing to point out - this is NOT confirmation of a new series of Red Dwarf. It is confirmation that Doug has started writing scripts which could be used in a potential Red Dwarf XI.

    Which is a good thing. Whilst I enjoyed Red Dwarf X immensely, I have heard that a lot of things were done last-minute. Evidently Doug doesn't want to be caught out again.

    It also states that Dave are keen on making more, as are the cast. This does sound amazingly promising, and I would imagine that Dave are just waiting until the DVD/blu-ray sales figures for Christmas to give it the go-ahead, and then announce it at a strategic time. I'd imagine they already have the money earmarked in their budget. As to when - who knows? Could still happen and go out next year, but that's probably a bit too optimistic.

    But good news all round!

    This is very good news indeed. I'm pleased to hear that Doug is making a conscious effort to get a head start on the writing process this time around. I mean, to quote the man himself;

    "You've got to think ahead". ~ Cat :-D

    Sounds very promising. How's about an announcement at Dimension Jump...?

    Is this really news? Doug confirmed on Twitter quite a while after filming wrapped that his favourite episode was "the one I'm writing now".

    You know I read somewhere that series X was supposed to have an episode starring an entire circus! That would be an interesting idea if tightened to fit the budget for series XI!

    An entire circus? I think that would probably be a logistical nightmare and how the smeg would it make sense?

    When I think of a circus and Red Dwarf I think wax droids, it's possible that the boys may stumble across a circus planet populated by wax performers. I'm not suggesting it would be financially feasible but it would still be an interesting premise for an episode and bound to warrant some pretty funny material.

    That's exactly what I think'll happen. I reckon it's been commissioned already, but best maximise fan support by announcing it at DJ. Great to hear he's sorting the scripts ahead of time, one less thing to worry about.

    Good to see that Red Dwarf is the top seller on the Playstation store and the sixth top rated programme. Funnily enough, the top rated show is Futurama, the other comedy sci-fi show with a small green ship, a robot and racist comedy accents....:lol:
