I think I posted when this was commissioned, but it's now imminent. The sixth series (or "Hexagonal Phase") of the radio show starts airing next week. Some poignant remarks from Mark Wing-Davey, quoted in the Guardian: I certainly hope so. For fictional characters, that's really the best you can hope for. But I wonder what the shelf life is on sci-fi. If space flight becomes common - possibly even a chore - then Vogons and Magratheans might start to resemble "men whose heads / Grew beneath their shoulders" in old tales of Africa. If so, future readers struggle to suspend disbelief and enjoy the stories.
