I'm guessing Liverpool didn't have its own Zero G football team.

More to the point, why isn't he a fan of normal football rather than of a zero gravity version of a terrible American sport?

I always found that surprising, even in the distant future I can't see the English playing American Football ever

    The real question is...

London has gravity. How do you play Zero G Football when you have gravity?

So, you would need to have orbiting stations to play home and away.

Why would you name a team after a city on the ground when you are in orbit? Team names should be sponsor names like Virgin Knights.

    I always thought the same.

If they managed to get the gravity on Red Dwarf somehow, they could probably remove it from a stadium in London.

Even if the stadium was in the space, the headquarters of the team could be in London.

I've always thought it's due to assumed progression of globalisation. eg. Dollarpounds and that. So maybe the London team is the only English-based team in a pan-global league.
