Nick Ridley was making a reference to a recent Merlin 2 part episode where Uther Pendragon (played by Anthony Head) marries a troll. The troll drinks a potion that allows her to shape-shift into a beautiful woman, and later uses a magic amulet to glamour him. Even when the potion is replaced and the troll is in her natural form he remains under her influence, cue some good comedy.

You should bear in mind some G&Ters attend this forum. ;-)

It's true G&T is a bit of a rougher place than here, (by that I mean it's not really family oriented, there are naughty words, strongly expressed opinions, etc.) but much of the criticism you have stated is blown out of proportion. For one thing, most of the G&T staff (and bear in mind not all the posts there are from staff members) and forum members like myself actually liked Back To Earth. Come to think of it, there was a lot more slagging off of BtE on this forum than G&T if I remember correctly. (To be fair, more people attend here.) And most of them are actually very happy about the possible new series.

As for their latest article, as I've said elsewhere, the new article was more a concern about the possible return of Duane Dibbley, which turned out to relate to something else anyway. To read that as slagging off the new series before it starts is a bit extreme.

Errr the chatroom was pretty full last night, you need to go in Fri and Sat after 10pm mate! :-)
(Edit: Just noticed the date of this post, perhaps there wasn't anyone in the chatroom then, I don't know being a relative newbie, but it is certainly rocking now!! :-) )

Yeah it was quite tragic to see him in full capslock mode, flipping between saying he will never leave and we can't stop him, pretending to be various other forum members and then....demanding we say his name - all whilst we were busy playing Grange Hill in some other poor soul's room
